Senior Brendan Quinn was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Academic All-State Team in Basketball.  Brendan has been an important member of the Sharyland basketball program for the last four years.

“Leadership and reliability are two of the things that Brendan was able to consistently give to the team,” said Basketball Head Coach David Keith, “His ability as a player grew tremendously over this post season, and defensively, he was able to shut down the District 30-5A MVP.”

He qualified because of his hard work in sports and dedication to his school work.  “I never thought or expected to part of this,” said Brendan when he found out.

He is the second athlete from Sharyland High School to receive the TABC All State honor.  The first was Chris Bodner.

“My part was a role player,” said Brendan. “I played aggressive defense, rebounded, and played as much offense as possible as a point guard/off guard.”

Coach Keith has been a member of TABC for the past 12 years. “I am extremely proud,” said Coach Keith. “Brendan has grown tremendously as a young man over the past two years.”

This year as a varsity player he totaled 25 assists and 28 steals.

“I would hope that I and the rest of the coaching staff helped him to develop the skills he already possessed being in a position as a coach, mentoring and helping young men to better themselves in academics first and extracurricular activities second,” Coach Keith said.

“I am glad that I had all the coaches that helped me throughout high school to become the person I am today,” said Brendan.
